Parents of children who will be five years old on or before Dec. 31, 2018 are reminded that kindergarten registration in the River East-Transcona School Division begins Mon., March 5 at the child’s designated school.<\/p>\n

The division is holding an information session at 7 p.m. on Wed., Jan. 17 at Donwood Elementary School (400 Donwood Dr.). Information on kindergarten programming, including the new all-day every-other-day schedule, will be provided.<\/p>\n

A session about the division’s English-German bilingual program, which allows entry at kindergarten or Grade 1 at Donwood and Princess Margaret School (367 Hawthorne Ave.), will be held at 6 p.m. on Thurs., Feb. 8 at Donwood Elementary School. <\/p>\n

RETSD also offers a Ukrainian-English bilingual program starting in kindergarten or Grade 1. Springfield Heights School (505 Sharron Bay) is holding an info session for parents of students in River East at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 8. Parents of students in Transcona interested in the program should contact Bernie Wolfe Community School (95 Bournais Dr.) directly at 204-958-6532 for more information.<\/p>\n

French Immersion is also offered starting in kindergarten or Grade 1. The following schools throughout the division will be holding info sessions on their language programming:  <\/p>\n

Neil Campbell School (845 Golspie St.) — Feb. 8 at 6:30 p.m. for parents of students in East Kildonan, the western part of Valley Gardens and Oakwood Estates.<\/p>\n

Springfield Heights School (505 Sharron Bay) — Feb. 8 at 6:30 p.m. for parents of students in North Kildonan, Harbourview South and Kildonan Estates. <\/p>\n

Sun Valley School (125 Sun Valley Dr.) — Feb. 8 at 6 p.m. for parents of students living east of Gateway Road and north of Springfield Road, and those living north of the Perimeter Highway.
École Centrale (604 Day St.) — Feb. 8 at 6 p.m. for parents of students living east of Plessis Road and south of Kildare Avenue.  <\/p>\n

École Margaret-Underhill (25 Regina Pl.) — Feb. 7 at 6 p.m. for parents of students living east of Plessis Road and north of Kildare Avenue, and those living west of Plessis Road and north of Regent Avenue.<\/p>\n

Salisbury Morse Place School (795 Prince Rupert Ave.) — Wed., Feb. 21 at 6:30 p.m. for parents of students living in Morse Place, the eastern part of Valley Gardens, Keenleyside, Almey, and Ravelston areas.<\/p>\n
