It’s spring clean-up time, and the new 4R Winnipeg Depot is an excellent reduce, reuse, recycle and repeat drop-off station.<\/div>\n

It’s spring clean-up time, and the new 4R Winnipeg Depot is an excellent reduce, reuse, recycle and repeat drop-off station.<\/p>\n

Many residents of the northwest area of Winnipeg are not aware of the state-of-the-art, City-owned facility at 1120 Pacific Ave.,  between McPhillips and Weston streets. It’s the third 4R Winnipeg Depot outlet in Winnipeg. There is no cost to residents to drop off materials, as long as the items can be recycled, reused or composted.<\/p>\n

Now is a perfect time to make dropoffs, with your car, pick-up truck or small truck, of all your recyclables and reusables. Garbage is not accepted at the Pacific Avenue location but it can be taken to the 4R Depot at 1777 Brady Rd., south of the city.<\/p>\n

The  drive-through Pacific Avenue site handles items that you cannot put into your weekly residential blue box pickup. Some things that can be dropped off include: scrap metal, glass, branches, trees, leaves, bicycles, large appliances, large plastic items, reusable timber, lumber, wood, rubble and masonry, clean fill, electronic waste such as televisions, computers, and old cell phones, and hazardous household waste such as paints, propane tanks, batteries, motor oil, filters and tires.<\/p>\n

All these items can be delivered to the three Winnipeg depots between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on weekdays (except Wednesdays) and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends. Friendly, helpful staff are always ready to assist you at the stations.<\/p>\n

The 4R Winnipeg Depot service is an important part of the Winnipeg garbage and recycling plan, as it gives residents more ways to reduce, reuse and recycle. <\/p>\n

Since the first 4R Winnipeg Depot opened at the Brady Road Site, over 10,000 tonnes of material have been collected and diverted. The third Depot site is located at 429 Panet Rd.<\/p>\n
