{"id":600009172,"date":"2023-08-09T02:01:12","date_gmt":"2023-08-09T07:01:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.winnipegfreepress.com\/our-communities\/sports\/2023\/08\/09\/acknowledging-the-past"},"modified":"2023-08-09T02:01:12","modified_gmt":"2023-08-09T07:01:12","slug":"acknowledging-the-past","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.winnipegfreepress.com\/our-communities\/sports\/2023\/08\/09\/acknowledging-the-past","title":{"rendered":"Acknowledging the past"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There will be lots happening at St. Vital Curling Club this month.<\/p>\n<p>The club, at 286 Regal Ave., is preparing to hold an open-house-style celebration on Thursday, Aug. 24, at which officials and club directors will publicly acknowledge that the club is located on treaty land.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement will coincide with the southeast Winnipeg-based club&rsquo;s junior summer curling camp, also being held that week, as well as the NISO Classic mixed doubles event that&rsquo;s set to begin that evening.
