The River Park South Community Association is planning a Canada Day celebration in Burland Park on July 1.<\/p><\/figcaption>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/figure>\n
• The first RPS Health, Wellness, Beauty and Crafters Show, May 11 at Dakota Community Centre;<\/p>\n
• A community garage sale, June 8 and 9;<\/p>\n
• Canada Day celebration, July 1 at Burland Park;<\/p>\n
• A garden show, July 20 and 21 (pending community participation);<\/p>\n
• A Halloween costume and pumpkin-carving contest, Oct. 24 to 31 (virtual).<\/p>\n
The RPSCA board is on a mission to make a real difference in our neighbourhood, whether it’s advocacy on important issues with organizations or elected partners, organizing events that bring community together, or finding ways for us to support one another when the need arises. Its recent annual general meeting at Louis Riel Library sparked lots of conversation and it was very apparent that there is no shortage of ideas on how to do all of it and more.<\/p>\n
Participating in this work, steered by our neighbourhood leaders and those who they motivate to join them, is beneficial in a variety of ways. We get to meet and know people, we contribute, we grow, and we learn; and all of it is done altruistically and without expectation. I for one am grateful for the time and efforts of this small but mighty group. But they can’t do it alone.<\/p>\n
