“My wife has experience as a baker in Saudi Arabia and Egypt, and she has a reputation for her Middle Eastern food,” Abohamar said. The couple and their three children came to Winnipeg in 2022 as part of the provincial nominee program. They currently live in the Bridgwater area.<\/p>\n
The business supplies Jardins St-Léon Gardens on St. Mary’s Road during its summer market season, and Abohamar said he’s been pleased to meet regular customers. Many of them come from across the city, while many are local.<\/p>\n
“I want to assure our customers that nothing will change, but we hope to add some new things. Coming from a Muslim country, we aim to add things like Halal meat to the menu, and cater to the Muslim community in Winnipeg,” Abohamar said.<\/p>\n
He said every day at Molly’s is a learning experience — especially for himself and the couple’s son, Mamdouh, who helps out when he isn’t studying — but he’s enjoying the experience.<\/p>\n
