{"id":600024648,"date":"2024-11-06T02:00:13","date_gmt":"2024-11-06T08:00:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.winnipegfreepress.com\/our-communities\/east\/2024\/11\/06\/housing-plans-approved-for-historic-building"},"modified":"2024-11-06T02:00:13","modified_gmt":"2024-11-06T08:00:13","slug":"housing-plans-approved-for-historic-building","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.winnipegfreepress.com\/our-communities\/east\/2024\/11\/06\/housing-plans-approved-for-historic-building","title":{"rendered":"Housing plans approved for historic building"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Winnipeg city council&rsquo;s Riel community committee held a brief meeting on Oct. 30.<\/p>\n<p>Plans to redevelop the old St. Boniface Normal School, a heritage building, at 210 rue Masson into a multi-family development, including seven studio apartments, 23 one-bedroom apartments and one two-bedroom apartment, were approved. The proposal includes 33 exterior parking stalls, three of which are accessible, and 10 indoor bike parking stalls, while two existing parking stalls in front of the building will be landscaped over to provide street-facing greenspace. Much of the existing details and components are to be preserved, where possible, to retain the character of the building. Matt Allard (St. Boniface) said.<\/p>\n<p>Plans for new signage at 712 Langevin St., a commercial property, was approved.<\/p>\n<p>A $1,000 per capita grant to Glenwood School for its school sports programs via Coun. Brian Mayes (St. Vital) was approved.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, four new appointees were nominated to serve on the St. Boniface Museum board of directors.
