Led by Brazilian guitarist Emmanuel Bach, this quartet brings together the sophistication of modern jazz with the rhythmic richness of Brazilian music. Emmanuel, originally from Brazil and now a key figure in the Winnipeg jazz scene, holds a master’s degree from the University of Manitoba, and currently teaches jazz guitar students and ensembles there. He has released three albums as a leader and performed with legends like Airto Moreira, Flora Purim, and Ivan Lins. <\/p>\n
Each Saturday night performance features an opening set by the quartet, followed by a set with a special guest. This week\u2019s trio features Karl Kohut (bass), Josh Bonneteau (drums), Patrick Coylston (piano), and special guest is trumpet player Andrew Littleford. And if a familiar face from the local music community happens to be in the house, don’t be surprised if Emmanuel waves them up for a tune!<\/p>\n
