Men's beach volleyball team spiked from medal race

There will be no medals for Team Manitoba's men's beach volleyball team at the Canada Summer Games.

Daniel Thiessen and Ben Hooker of Team Toba lost in the quarterfinals Wednesday afternoon to Team British Columbia in three sets.

Manitoba was dominated in the first set, losing 21-8. They were able to bounce back and win the second set 21-19 to force a third set, which they eventually dropped 15-13.

Thiessen and Hooker will now play for fifth place Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at the Sargent Park Beach Volleyball Centre.
