Despite early indecision about running again for council, Russ Wyatt is headed back to city hall for a fourth term.
In September, Wyatt announced he would not seek re-election to pursue the federal Liberal nomination in the area. He changed his mind four days later, deciding to run.
Transcona voters were seemingly unaffected by Wyatt’s past indecision on running for council again, supporting him with a total of 61 per cent of the vote.
His main challenger, Ray Ulasy, was defeated, receiving 31 per cent of the vote. Fellow candidates George Baars-Wilhelm and Blessing Feschuk both received less than four per cent of the vote.
