Call it a tale of three trimesters. For writer/performer Stéphanie Morin-Robert, her pregnancy was the best of times, and it was the worst of times.
Vancouver’s Morin-Robert comically details her pregnancy and rather spectacular birth experience in this 60-minute PG one-hander. Her story starts in a San Antonio, Texas, hotel room where, after presenting her own eye-opening experiences at a conference of ocularists (specialists who create prosthetic eyes), she and her partner conceive a baby under some financially flush circumstances.
Morin-Robert is both poignant and brazen, and she delivers right on time through the emotional — and digestive — ups and downs of growing a baby while being billeted on tour.
