Laboratory janitor Frank embraces order and routine. So when he inadvertently fires up an experimental science machine and winds up leading a very small life in another man’s unruly beard, he does his best to impose order on his freewheeling host’s affairs.
Written and performed by Australian Shane Adamczak, as Frank, and bearded Montrealer Al Lafrance, as Al, this entertaining incarnation of the 2017 fringe comedy incorporates romance, funny songs, corporate villains, a close-shave with death and a tidy life lesson: taking shortcuts won’t always get you to your desired destination, but adhering too strictly to the straight-and-narrow isn’t necessarily the right path, either. Living large sometimes requires taking a middle road to love and happiness.
Basically a bizarro take on The Odd Couple, this fast-paced hour of physical and metaphysical comedy is time well spent.
