A provincial Liberal government would increase daily exercise in Manitoba schools.

"This is about being proactive," Liberal leader Rana Bokhari told reporters this morning.

She would begin with elementary schools and eventually make exercise a daily part of schools through Grade 12.

However, Bokhari had no specifics about how she would achieve her goal, beyond consulting with teachers and school divisions. She could not say what else in the curriculum would see its time reduced to allow for more exercise during the day.

"It's about empowering them to make this work. It's saying it's a priority for our government," Bokhari said.
