The Manitoba Moose fell 5-4 in overtime to the Wolves in Chicago on Sunday afternoon to wrap up the 2022-23 American Hockey League season.
Manitoba led 4-3 but allowed the tying goal by Zach Senyshyn with just over two minutes left in regulation time. Vasily Ponomarev notched the winner just 54 seconds into the extra frame.
Max Lajoie set up the deciding tally to register his third assist of the game.
Wyatt Bongiovanni, Jansen Harkins and Alex Limoges fired goals for Manitoba (37-25-10), while goalie Arvid Holm turned aside 25 shots for the visitors.
The Moose face the Milwaukee Admirals in an opening-round playoff series. Games 1 and 2 are set for Friday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m., respectively, at Canada Life Centre.
