Michelle Stilwell, a Winnipeg native now living in Nanoose Bay, B.C., set two world records on Tuesday at the 2012 Summer Down Under series in Sydney, Australia, Athletics Canada has reported.
Stilwell broke her own T52 wheelchair classification World Records in the 100- and 200-metres races. In the 100-metres, she recorded a time of 19.42 seconds, which was one-tenth off of her previous World Record of 19.52. In the 200-metres she finished with a record time of 34.97 seconds, which beat her previous mark of 35.22 established in June 2011.
Stilwell has now beaten the 200-metres World Record on five occasions.
