Gimli curler Kerri Einarson has replaced one Brad with another in her quest to qualify for the Winter Olympics in mixed doubles.
Einarson will partner with Brad Jacobs at the Canadian Olympic Trials later this month in Portage la Prairie. She won the 2021 national mixed doubles title with Brad Gushue in late March, and the team finished fourth at the world championship in May. However, Gushue will skip his four-man team at the 2022 Beijing Games, so Einarson went out and found a highly qualified replacement.
Jacobs guided his Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., men’s team to Olympic gold in 2014.
He lost the 2021 Trials final to Gushue in Nov. 28 in Saskatoon.
