Hey there, time traveller!

A story making the rounds Sunday about the new Winnipeg NHL team’s name missed the mark. The website www.sportslogos.net posted a story Saturday that True North had registered the name “Whiteout” and proposed it was the only thing the new team could be called.
A few media outlets reportedly bit on the story but it was discounted Sunday by True North’s Scott Brown.
True North, in fact, has registered the name “Whiteout” with the Canadian Trade-marks Database of the federal government. It did so on May 4.
But it has done so, Brown said, only to protect future use of the phrase or term if and when it’s needed. The whiteout was the mark of playoff fever in the NHL’s previous stay in Winnipeg.
Brown said that Whiteout will not be the new name of the Winnipeg NHL team.
No announcement on what it will actually be is expected today.
