ABOUT THE BLUES
— The Blues come into tonight’s game having lost three of the last four, including a 5-2 defeat at home on Saturday against Anaheim.
— St. Louis is 9-0-1 so far this season vs. Central Division rivals. The only blemish? It was the Oct. 18 shootout loss here at the MTS Centre, a 4-3 setback. The Blues won the other matchup this season against the Jets at Scottrade Center, 3-2 on Oct. 29.
— It’s his 566th game in the NHL tonight and Alexander Steen is emerging as quite a leader in St. Louis. He leads the team in scoring to this juncture of the season, having already scored 20 goals and 32 points. His goals total is second only to those of Washington’s Alex Ovechkin and his five game-winners this season is second only to Anaheim’s Ryan Getzlaf.
— He got the hook on Saturday but No. 1 goalie Jaroslav Halak has a mark of 15-5-2 this season. Like the Jets, St. Louis’s backup goalie Brian Elliott has better numbers than the team’s main starter, with a 2.18 goals-against average (vs. Halak’s 2.24) and a .915 save percentage (vs. .910).
