About the Hawks

Hey there, time traveller!
This article was published 24/1/2014 (1304 days ago), so information in it may no longer be current.

The Hawks are coming off a 2-1 loss Thursday night in Minnesota, contributing to an unhappy night in most ways for the Jets, as the teams all directly ahead of Winnipeg (Wild, Predators and Stars) were all winners while the Jets were losing in San Jose.

Chicago continues its relentless pursuit of the Anaheim Ducks for first overall. Despite their win over Anaheim last week, the Hawks trailed the Ducks by five points (81-76) heading into weekend action.

Chicago is 18-3-7 at United Center so far this season.

The season's series between Chicago and Winnipeg has been one-sided. The Hawks have won all three, by a combined count of 15-5.

Apart from games against the Jets and at 9-7-3 within the Central Division, Chicago has found its toughest competition this season in its own neighbourhood. The Hawks have just two regulations losses all season against teams from the other three divisions.

Chicago defenceman Duncan Keith is having an outstanding season, though he missed his first game of the season Thursday due to illness. In his last 20 outings, Keith has collected 21 points. He has 46 on the season, second in the NHL among defencemen, and is plus-19.
