"ï"ï ABOUT THE HURRICANES
Come into tonight's game off Tuesday's 3-2 loss in Ottawa. The Canes have just two wins in their last 10 and have fallen hard, into 14th place in the Eastern Conference with just 36 points and six games to play. They've lost five of the last six, and four in a row on the road
Carolina has been respectable against the Northeast and Atlantic Division but its mark against its Southeast Division rivals this season, 4-12-0, has been more than hurtful.
LW Jeff Skinner had to leave Tuesday's game with a suspected concussion after being hit cleanly by Ottawa's Jared Cowan. Skinner has 12 goals and 22 points this season in 37 games.
Goalie Cam Ward has been sidelined for 21 games because of knee injury.
Carolina has a power-play goal in four straight games, five for 12 in the process. Captain Eric Staal had Tuesday's in Ottawa, his 17th goal of the season.
