The Jets are chasing the Dallas Stars for a wild card berth and they got some help as the Stars fell 4-2 to the Columbus Blue Jackets. Dallas now has 68 points to Winnipeg's 67 and the Stars have a game in hand.


Matt Halischuk stepped in for James Wright (ankle) on the Jets' fourth line alongside Jim Slater and Chris Thorburn. He had been out since Dec. 14 with an arm injury.


The Jets host the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday at MTS Centre (6 p.m. TV: CBC, Radio: TSN 1290)
