The big picture

The Jets were eliminated from the playoff picture and now have three games remaining. They sit at 36-34-9 through 79 games. Winnipeg has 81 points, one better than they finished with last season when known as the Atlanta Thrashers.

The little picture

Winnipeg took a 2-1 lead into the third period but took an endless stream of penalties to allow the Lightning to tie the game and force overtime. Tampa's Steven Stamkos buried his 56th of the year for the win.

Claude's quote

"They have guys that fire rockets. You can't keep taking penalties and giving them the chance to fire away. I'm very disappointed. You just can't keep taking penalties."

Banged-up Buff

Jets defenceman Dustin Byfuglien has what the team is calling a "lower body bone bruise," and he admitted on Saturday it's been an issue. "It's never fun to play hurt and it has cut down on my ability to get around out there. But you have to help the team and I won't shut it down for even a game until we're eliminated. I have to do my part," said Byfuglien.
