The Winnipeg Jets have checked off another item on their off-season to-do list.
The Jets announced Monday they have agreed to terms with restricted free-agent left-winger Brandon Tanev on a one-year, one-way contract worth US$700,000.
The 25-year-old native of Toronto played in 51 games with the Jets last season, registering two goals, two assists and 26 penalty minutes. He also suited up for 25 games with the AHL's Manitoba Moose in 2016-17, chalking up two goals, seven assists and 13 penalty minutes.
The 6-0, 170-pounder was an undrafted free agent, signing with the Jets organization on March 30, 2016, following four years with Providence College.
Centre Andrew Copp, 23, right-winger JC Lipon, 24, and 24-year-old goaltender Connor Hellebuyck are the three remaining Winnipeg RFAs to be signed.
