Carolina stumbles into Winnipeg on a seven-game winless streak (0-6-1), including Thursday's 6-3 loss to Toronto in which they held a 3-2 lead with less than seven minutes left.

The Canes are just 3-9-0 against their Southeast Division rivals -- including 0-2 vs. the Jets -- but are a respectable 8-6-2 on the road.

This stat courtesy the Raleigh News and Observer: In 13 games before suffering the second concussion of his career on Feb. 14, Jeff Skinner had seven goals and seven assists as the Canes went 8-4-1. In the past 14 games since returning, Skinner has three goals and two assists. Carolina is just 2-7-1 in their last 10.

In his last game against the Jets last week, a 4-1 Winnipeg win, Skinner registered a career high 10 shots on goal.

Captain Eric Staal continues to lead the the Canes in scoring with 15 goals and 21 assists, including four-game winners. Alex Semin, who signed a five-year, $35 million extension last week, is second with 32 points (9G, 23A).

Carolina's power-play is ranked 27th in the NHL; its penalty-kill unit is 28th.

With both Cam Ward and Dan Ellis injured, goaltender Justin Peters has started the last two games in goal.
