-- Having taken care of their business early in the season (19-5-4 in the first 28 games), the Habs, at 27-14-5, are off to the playoffs one season after they were at near laughingstock levels in the basement of the Eastern Conference in 2011-12.

-- Montreal is still in a fight with the Boston Bruins for the Northeast Division crown and the conference's second seed. Each team is at 59 points and the Bruins have a slight edge, with three more games to play. The Habs still haven't clinched a spot in the top four and home-ice advantage in the first round, and finish up Saturday against Toronto in a game that has some potential meaning for positions.

-- Montreal comes into tonight's game off two losses, the latest 3-2 to New Jersey on Tuesday, and has lost five of its last six, its worst stretch of the season.

-- Montreal's offensive leaders this season have been LW Max Pacioretty, who tops the team with 38 points, and defenceman P.K. Subban, who has 36.
