-- C David Desharnais (knee), RW Brendan Gallagher (hand), D Greg Pateryn (ankle) are out. C Andrew Shaw (concussion), D Andrei Markov (groin) and C Alex Galchenyuk (knee) are day-to-day.

-- The Habs are coming off a 4-1 home loss to the Washington Capitals after going 4-1-2 on the road.

-- D Shea Weber, a top candidate for the Norris Trophy, will join teammate Carey Price at the NHL All-star Game later this month. In 41 games, Weber has 10 goals and 26 points. He’s also a plus-16, tops on the team.

-- G Carey Price has fallen off his previous form recently, with a .904 save percentage and a 2.64 goals-against average since Dec. 1.

-- Captain Max Pacioretty has been red hot lately. He’s tied with Sidney Crosby and Jeff Carter for the NHL lead in goals since Nov. 12 with 17 after scoring only two in his first 14 regular-season games. His 38 game-winning goals over the last five-plus seasons is second only to Washington superstar Alex Ovechkin, who has 42 over that span.
