Tonight: JETS @ SHARKS

Hey there, time traveller!
This article was published 26/3/2014 (1241 days ago), so information in it may no longer be current.

The Sharks clinched their 10th consecutive trip to the playoffs last weekend despite going through a stretch where's they've won just two of their last five. San Jose currently owns the third-longest (tied) active playoff streak in professional sports (NHL, NFL, NBA, MLB): Detroit Red Wings (22 seasons), San Antonio Spurs (16 seasons), Denver Nuggets (10 seasons), San Jose Sharks (10 seasons).

The Sharks are 47-18-9 and sit second in the Western Conference with 103 points, just back of the St. Louis Blues (105). The Sharks have hit the 100-point mark seven times in the last nine full seasons and just missed the other two years with 99 points in 2005-06 and 96 in 2011-12.

Team Canada gold medallist and Sharks sniper Patrick Marleau has 31 goals on the season, the seventh time in his career he's eclipsed the 30-goal plateau. That ranks him second since 2005-06 in that category behind Alex Ovechkin (9) and tied with Jarome Iginla and Ilya Kovalchuk.

Sharks goalie Antti Niemi has 36 wins. He has registered 30 or more wins in three of the first four seasons with San Jose. Niemi and Pittsburgh's Marc-Andre Fleury are the only goalies to have collected three, 30-win seasons since 2010-11.
