The Wild fell 3-2 in a shootout to Detroit Saturday night, dropping consecutive games for the first time since Jan. 19 and 20. Now at 44-26-8, they are four points ahead of the Jets.

Minnesota is 2-0-2 vs. the Jets this season, winning 4-3 in overtime and 3-2, falling 4-3 and 2-1 in OT. The Wild are 12-4-5 all-time vs. the Jets/Thrashers, 6-1-3 at Xcel Energy Center.

The Wild hope to have captain Mikko Koivu back for today's game against the Jets. He was a late scratch against the Red Wings after scratching his cornea.

Jason Pominville has been a bit of a Jet killer, with seven points (2G, 5A) this season. He has 32 points (13G, 19A) in 36 career games against Winnipeg.

Minnesota was 18-19-5 record for 41 points on Jan. 14 -- ranking 12th in the Western Conference and 11 points behind the Jets in the standings. With a regulation win against the Jets, the Wild can clinch a spot in the playoffs for the third straight season.

The Wild are 7-2-1 in their last 10 and lead the NHL with a 26-7-3 record since Jan. 15,

Not coincidentally, Minnesota is also 26-7-3 since acquiring goaltender Devan Dubnyk and have a plus-46 goal differential since Jan. 15 -- best in the NHL.
