ERIE, Pa. - Matthew Tkachuk scored a hat trick and added an assist to lead the London Knights past the Erie Otters 7-4 on Wednesday night in Game 1 of the Ontario Hockey League Western Conference final.
Christian Dvorak had two goals and three assists for the Knights, with Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Mitchell Marner chipping in with one goal and three assists. Olli Juolevi tacked on one goal and two assists.
Alex DeBrincat scored a hat trick for Erie, with Kyle Maksimovich adding the other goal.
Tyler Parsons made 26 saves for the win in net as Devin Williams kicked out 19-of-25 shots in defeat.
London was 3 for 4 on the power play while the Otters were scoreless on their lone opportunity with the man advantage.
Game 2 is scheduled for Sunday in Erie.
