Leon Gawanke’s overtime tally lifted the Manitoba Moose to a 4-3 victory over the visiting Calgary Wranglers this afternoon in American Hockey League action.

Calgary led 2-0 after the opening 20 minutes at Canada Life Centre and the clubs were deadlocked 3-3 after the second and third periods.

Cole Maier, Henri Nikkanen and Chaz Lucius fired second-period tallies for the Moose, who improved to 7-3-1 and lead the Central Division.

Manitoba goalie Oskari Salminen allowed three goals on 10 shots and was pulled early in the middle frame and replaced by Arvid Holm. In relief, Holm stopped all 24 drives he faced as his team stormed back from a 3-1 deficit.

It was redemption for the Moose, who fell 3-2 to the Wranglers on Friday night.
