The Manitoba Moose capped their last home game of the regular season in convincing fashion Friday, downing the Grand Rapids Griffins in a 3-1 decision.
Leon Gawanke, Dominic Toninanto and Jansen Harkins spurred the offence while goaltender Arvid Holm made 22 saves to help the Moose improve to 35-24-5-4 for the season and maintain the third seed in the Central Division playoff picture.
It was a timely win that ended a five-game losing streak for the club. The Moose have yet to clinch a playoff berth but sit comfortably in the race and control their own destiny with four games remaining in the fading schedule.
The Moose hit the road for the final four contests of the regular season, beginning Tuesday in Texas against the Stars, 7 p.m. puck drop.
