CALGARY – Andrew Cristall’s lone goal of a three-round shootout lifted the visiting Kelowna Rockets to a 3-2 victory over the Calgary Hitmen in Western Hockey League action on Sunday.

Carson Golder and Dylan Wightman scored in regulation for the Rockets (22-31-3-0).

Brandon Whynott and Riley Fiddler-Schultz scored for the Hitmen (24-26-5-3), who battled back from a 2-0 deficit.

The Hitmen outshot the Rockets 35-31. The Rockets led 2-0 after the first period and 2-1 heading into the third.

ICE 8 OIL KINGS 1

EDMONTON, Alta. — Zach Benson and Conor Geekie each scored three goals as the visiting Winnipeg ICE drilled the Edmonton Oil Kings 8-1.

Zack Ostapchuk and Miles Cooper also scored for the Eastern Conference-leading ICE (47-7-1-0), who led 2-1 after the first period and 5-1 heading into the third.

Rilen Kovacevic scored for the Oil Kings (8-45-3-0), who were outshot 39-15.

SILVERTIPS 5 ROYALS 2

VICTORIA, B.C. — Jackson Berezowski and Austin Roest each scored twice as the visiting Everett Silvertips defeated the Victoria Royals 5-2.

Ben Hemmerling also scored for the Silvertips (29-24-2-1), who outshot the Royals 34-25.

Teydon Trembecky and Justin Kipkie scored for the Royals (15-37-6-1). Robin Sapousek chipped in with two assists.
