Soccer hero Desiree Scott is coming back home to Winnipeg next month, to help inspire the next generation of potential Canadian Olympians.
The Team Canada midfielder is set to host the second annual KidSport soccer camp, which kicks off on Nov. 7 at the University of Winnipeg recreation complex. She will be joined by other top players and coaches from Manitoba for the two-day skills blitz, which is geared for girls between nine and 18 years old.
"Last year was a massive success," Scott said in a statement on Monday. "I had an awesome day on the field with all the girls that came out to become ‘destroyers in the making.’ I’m looking forward to this year’s camp, which will be even bigger and better with lots to learn and enjoy."
Registration is open to the public, and information can be found at http://www.kidsport.ca/winnipeg. The camp will also feature attendees that KidSport funded to play soccer this year.
