St Pierre RCMP are investigating a single-vehicle rollover near New Bothwell Thursday that claimed the life of a 52-year-old man from Blumenort.
Emergency crews responded around 4:30 p.m. to Provincial Road 311, about three kilometres east of Provincial Road 216, nearing the Manning Canal.
The man’s eastbound sedan lost control while attempting to pass another vehicle, then rolled multiple times in the south ditch.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. No other occupants were in the vehicle.
In a Friday release, Manitoba RCMP said drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the accident.
A forensic collision reconstructionist is assisting St Pierre RCMP with the investigation.
