There was little interest in physical distancing Tuesday as the staff of Mary Brown’s Chicken assembled to watch Steinbach mayor Earl Funk snip the ribbon at the restaurant’s grand opening, flanked by Provencher MP Ted Falk and franchisee David Teng. The restaurant, located along Highway 12 near Staples, is a Canadian chain known for its southern-fried chicken and breaded potato wedges. Dine-in service is temporarily suspended during the COVID-19 outbreak, but pickup, and delivery options are available seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The neighbouring Starbucks remains under construction.
