Two Winnipeg men were charged this week in connection to the murder of 27-year-old Gerhard Reimer-Wiebe, a man originally from Steinbach who had been living in Winnipeg.
On Wednesday RCMP arrested 29-year-old Kyle Evan Sinkovits. One day later they arrested 25-year-old Jonathan Bradley Narvey.
Both were charged with First Degree Murder, Forcible Confinement and Indignity to a Dead Human Body.
Sinkovits had a court appearance scheduled for Friday while Narvey will appear in court on Tuesday. Both were charged and remanded into custody.
Reimer-Wiebe’s body was found June 24 in Portage, and was identified July 17.
RCMP said the investigation was thorough.
"Investigators have done extensive work on this investigation, have received over 250 tips from the public, and are in the process of examining debris from a location of interest on Alfred Avenue in Winnipeg," they said in a press release.
Police didn’t offer additional information saying only that the investigation is "active and ongoing", and that they expect to release more information in the coming weeks.
