Din Touch Massage Therapy Clinic, a new home-based clinic located in Royalwood, is welcoming all area residents. Owner Dina Birenboim is a registered massage therapist. She offers massage therapy, acupressure, reflexology, pre-natal massage, aromatherapy, and hot stone treatments.

Born in Siberia, Birenboim moved to Israel in high school, completed degrees in biotechnology and complementary therapies and met her husband. Following graduation, she operated her own clinic for two years.

When she was pregnant with her first child, the political situation in Israel worsened, and security for her family’s future became a concern.
Birenboim and her husband visited several Canadian cities to plan their immigration, but “fell in love with Winnipeg.

“Israeli people are very warm and will smile at you even if they do not know you”, says Birenboim. “We found that same warmth in Winnipeg and in Royalwood. It is a community where everyone cares for each other”.

Caring for others is what motivated Birenboim to open her home-based clinic.

“When I am working, I don’t feel like I am doing work; I feel like I am reaching out with my entire being to make people well”.

Birenboim invites you to visit www.dintouch.ca and www.nochiskincare.com for further information, or call her at 204-296-6685.

Royalwood residents flocked to hear a presentation from fellow resident and Save Our Seine board member Marc St. Laurent as part of the organization’s annual general meeting Oct. 23.

St. Laurent described how 2012 water levels and flow in the Seine were the lowest they have been in some 50 years.

“Lack of precipitation was a key factor this summer, impacting the fish, snapping turtles, and other aquatic life”.

“Save Our Seine received numerous emails from Royalwood residents this year asking about the low water levels and expressing concerns about their implications to fish, aquatic ecology and river navigation”, says Denis Gautron, the new SOS president.

More than 50 people attended the event, at which Gautron was appointed president, with Denis

De Pape as vice-president, and Dave Venema as treasurer. Sisters of Our Lady of The Mission Sandra Stewart, Veronica Dunne, and Denise Kuyp were appointed to share the position of secretary, all in a volunteer capacity.

Casera Credit Union was acknowledged for its support and two former SOS board members, Dave Danyluk and J.P. Brunet, were honoured with recognition awards for their dedication and service to the organization.

The snow and ice may be here to stay, but there is good news for Royalwood residents!
Brendon Rebillard is a fully insured, young entrepreneur expanding his residential snow-clearing business into the Royalwood area.

A resident of nearby River Park South, Rebillard does all the work himself. His truck is outfitted with a specialized snowplow designed to prevent driveway damage and drag the snow away.
Rebillard’s services also include walkway shoveling, all with a 10-hour guarantee.

“I really enjoy working outside in the fresh air and seeing the results of my work – clear and safe driveways and walkways”, Rebillard says. Call Rebillard at (204) 290-5313 for more details or a quote.
