Pictured: Kelvin cross-country athlete Kailey Sprague, 16,  relaxes after a busy and successful cross-country season. The Kelvin Clippers cross-country track team was on fire this season.
Entering three of four provincial meets, they won them all. They walked away with titles in the varsity girls, junior varsity girls, and varsity boys categories.

“That doesn’t happen very often,” Coach Richard Thomas said. “You win one and you think ‘Well, that’s a memorable year,’ you win two you think ‘wow that was really neat,’ you win three and it’s really special.”

Thomas said he’d never tell his runner they had to win during the season, but it was nice to come home victorious time and time again.

“We all come together during meets and practices,” said Sprague, a Grade 11 student in her third year on the team. “We all support each other and we congratulate everyone else if we don’t win, like other team members who placed high, we’re always happy for them.”
