Winnipeg police shut down a drug-trafficking ring in Transcona earlier this month.

The East District Station Community Support Unit and a member of the Canine Unit became involved in an investigation into drug trafficking in the 400 block of Yale Avenue East. Police applied for and were granted a Controlled Drugs and Substances Search Warrant.

The warrant was executed around 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 3, and a male was arrested inside. An adult female and male were seen leaving before the warrant was executed, but were arrested without incident close to the home.

After police searched the home, officers discovered 15.5 grams of crack cocaine with an estimated street value of $3,000, a small amount of marijuana, and packaging material.
