Funds are beginning to come in for the Dalhousie Playground Renewal Initiative.
Parent advisory council president Jaime Webster says the initiative was awarded a $50,000 grant from the Community Places Program. So far the council has $77,000 confirmed and are waiting to hear back on more grants.
The renewal initiative will replace the decaying, 25-year-old play structure at the back of the school. The estimated cost for the project is over $209,000.

To keep the momentum going, the council has entered the Fab 94.3 and QX 104 Kidsville contest and are in the top seven. The prize for the contest is $10,000 and voting is open until June 28.
