New Handi-Transit options fo East St. Paul residents

East St. Paul is now offering a new transit service for residents with mobility issues.
The RM of East St. Paul, in conjunction with Wheelchair Services of Manitoba, will provide Handi-Transit options to area residents with permanent or temporary mobility impairments, age-related impairments and/or frailty, or who are legally blind.
To use Handi-Transit, an application form must be submitted available to the RM office (3021 Birds Hill Rd.). According to a release, “priority will be given to riders seeking transportation to medical appointments, then shopping trips. Secondary priority will be given to those using the service for visiting trips or to recreational activities.”
Handi-Transit will be available in East St. Paul from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Trips must be booked 24 hours in advance of travel, and must originate from within the RM. Drop-offs and pickups will be to the ground floor entrances of departure and arrival locations.
One-way fares are $7 to areas in East St. Paul and in Winnipeg north of Broadway Avenue. One-way trips to south Winnipeg are available for $9.
