Over 40 Swedes and members of the Swedish Cultural Association (764 Erin St.) celebrated Swedish Flag Day on June 6.

The group headed to the town of Meadows, Man. to learn more about the old Swedish colony that settled there from Ukraine.

Swedish Flag Day, also known as National Day in Sweden, is the date Sweden got its own flag and the dissolution of the union with Norway in 1905. The day was established in 1983. Participants enjoyed food, dancing, singing and exploring the farm town.
