Ringette all-star game and skills competition announced

 The Winnipeg Ringette League will hold the eighth annual U19 all-star games and the U14 skills competition on Tues., Jan. 3, 2017 at Seven Oaks Arena (745 Kingsbury Ave.):

• 3:30 to 5:15 p.m. — U14 skills competition;

• 5:30 to 7 p.m. — U19 A1 all-star game;

• 7:15 to 9 p.m. — U19 A2 all-star game.

 

Wolverines topple Titans

The West Kildonan Wolverines varsity boys hockey team beat the Transcona Titans 3-1 on Dec. 14 to remain in first place in the Winnipeg Free Press #2 Division of the Winnipeg High School Hockey League with 34 points.

On Dec. 21, the Wolverines play the Springfield Sabres who sit in second place with 30 points. The game starts at 4 p.m. at Seven Oaks Arena (745 Kingsbury Ave.)

 

Sisler Spartans on-ice struggles continue

 The Sisler Spartans varsity boys hockey team lost 6-1 to the Louis Riel Voyageurs on Dec. 14.

The Spartans remain in sixth place in the Price Division of the WHSHL  with 12 points. 

The Spartans played the first-place Léo-Rémillard Renards on Dec. 16. The score was unavailable at press time.
