Sanford’s Doyon named to all-star team
Alex Doyon, a Grade 12 student at Sanford Collegiate, was selected to play in a Basketball Manitoba All-Star game for graduating players on A, AA and AAA Manitoba high school boys’ teams.

The game took place on April 15 as part of Basketball Manitoba’s annual awards and all-star games event featuring high school basketball players and coaches who had outstanding seasons.

Sabres, Saints are honoured
The Winnipeg Women’s High School Hockey League’s 21st season award winners were honoured at the Excellence and Leadership awards gala April 12.

Sanford Sabres player Kendall Manness won the top defence award in the Hires Marketing Division, while Taylor Hildebrand was named most valuable player. The Sabres were 2016-17 division champions.

Portage Collegiate Institute Saints won the Winnipeg Free Press Division and graduating player Hailee Morisseau received a WWHSHL scholarship of $750.
