The YMCA-YWCA of Winnipeg held its first Kids Helping Kids Child Care Walk on June 1 at more than 35 Y’s child care centres including West Portage Child Care, Tyndall Park Child Care and Lord Nelson School Age centres.
Kids walked around the school’s neighbourhoods to fundraise for the Y’s North Y Youth Centre (363 McGregor St.) which offers its services to children in need and engages at-risk children and youth in positive activities that promote healthy living, foster social responsibility, and nurture potential.
The Y raised almost $20,000 as of June 6.
