Linda Asper, the president of the 108-year old University Women’s Club of Winnipeg, is leading a team of highly accomplished women to raise funds for the operation and preservation of Ralph Connor House at 54 West Gate, a local historic treasure and home to the club since 1939.

This UWC’s self-guided Home Tours 2017 offers  an opportunity to visit seven historic homes in Crescentwood and River Heights — as well as Ralph Connor House itself — to learn about their historic and educational significance.

It will take place on Sat., Oct. 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Home Tours 2017 is an opportunity to enjoy the ambience and special features of these homes, all of which showcase a part of Winnipeg heritage.

About 65 per cent of members of the University Women’s Club are alumna of various University of Manitoba programs of study, including law, education, library sciences, social work, and nursing among others. The event will also honor the late Dale Laird, a member of the club who initiated the House Tour and regularly supported the club’s fundraising initiatives.

Tickets are available at brownpapertickets.com, McNally Robinson Booksellers, and at Ralph Connor House for $35 per person.

Funds realized will be used for the operation and preservation of Ralph Connor House.
