This fall, 166 schools across Manitoba participated in the Multi-Material Stewardship Manitoba’s Bag Up Manitoba program, keeping 1,194,583 plastic bags out of the landfills. As an acknowledgement of their participation in the program, students at Greenway School were honoured a plastic composite bench for their school yard. All participating schools will receive bird feeders created from recycled plastic and wood composite material. Greenway School received one of  the 14 benches awarded by random draw. Accompanying the students were Tom Ethans of Take Pride Winnipeg! (back row, far left), Sarah Wallace of MMSM (far right) and Greenway principal Barbara Myron (second from right).
