With a provincial election set for Tues., Sept. 10, many local residents will be voting in a new district.

Midland constituency now includes the communities of Domain, La Salle, Oak Bluff, Sanford, Starbuck and Brunkild.  The only prospective candidate listed on the Elections Manitoba website as of June 19 was incumbent Progressive Conservative MLA Blaine Pedersen.

The boundaries of the Lakeside constituency were redrawn and now include St. Francois Xavier, Springstein, Elie, St. Eustache, Poplar Point and Rosser. Incumbent PC MLA Ralph Eichler was listed as the sole candidate at press time.

 

Headingley voters will cast ballots in the Roblin constituency, a seat now held by PC MLA Myrna Driedger. She is listed as a candidate in the upcoming election.

Portage la Prairie constituency was the only one in Manitoba to keep its boundaries the same. PC MLA Ian Wishart is listed as a candidate.
