Wedding season is upon us and many years ago, photos were the only way to preserve that special day. But with the introduction of digital technology, wedding videos are now taking the look and feel of commercial filmmaking.
Local videographer Jake Arida of Jake Arida Films, has been capturing special moments for over 10 years.
“A good videographer should capture the very soul of the special day, the purity of emotions… to preserve your most special life moments forever,” Arida said.
When selecting your videographer, there are a number of things to take into consideration, Arida said.
“Number one, the bridal couple should make their selection based on the style of the videographer,” he said. “They need to watch sample videos, as each videographer has a unique style of shoot and edit.”
Arida mentioned other things to ask about, including years of experience; how the videographer plans on capturing the story of your wedding day; what equipment they have; and will they work with the other vendors you are using — for example, the photographer.
To get the most out of your videographer you have to be open.
“Tell them exactly what you expect and visualize on your wedding day. Meet the videographer in person and feel if they are the right one who fits your requirement to capture your wedding. You should feel as ease when talking to the person,” Arida said.
“And there is no need to micro-manage, you hired them. They have the experience and talent to do their job.”
