Fort Garry Lions victorious in peewee A final

The Fort Garry Lions peewee squad has wrapped up its season with a come-from-behind finish and championship title.

The Lions won the Manitoba Minor Football Association peewee A championship game on Nov. 3 at IG Field. After trailing the Sunrise Coyotes for most of the match, the Lions managed to rally and score two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to earn their championship plaque.

The final score was 32-25 for the Lions with players Max Funk scoring a single touchdown and Brady Fay scoring three. Fay, who also went on a 107-yard run, was named most valuable player.
