Staying active in Macdonald
Macdonald Services to Seniors offers a GEMS (Greet, Eat and Meet) seniors program for seniors living in the RM of Macdonald and surrounding areas. The cost is $10 per person and lunch is served at noon in Starbuck Hall, 5 Main St., on Wednesdays and in the Sanford Legion at noon on Thursdays.
Please call Leanne Wilson at 204-735-3052 to sign up by the Monday before each weekly meal.

Wrestling on Valentine’s Day
Fannystelle residents can enjoy a night out on Fri., Feb. 14 and see the Canadian Wrestling Elite’s event at the Fannystelle Community Hall, 17 Main Ave. W starting at 7:30 p.m. Happy hour begins at 6 p.m.

Come out for bingo
Everyone is invited to attend the Starbuck Combined 4-H Club Family Bingo Night in the Starbuck Community Hall, 25 Main St., on Fri., Feb. 28. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and games start at 7 p.m.
There will be donated and cash prizes as well as a 50/50 raffle and silent suction. Bingo proceeds will go to the community hall.

Back to the 50’s
Fort la Reine Museum invites everyone to break out their 1950’s gear to wear at its 1950’s Trivia Night on Fri., March 6 at 7 p.m. in the Portage la Prairie Royal Canadian Legion, 275 Duke Ave.
The cost for a team of up to eight people is $120 and teams must register online by March 1.

The Whoop & Hollar Folk Festival holds an Open Mic & Jam Night at the Portage la Prairie Royal Canadian Legion, 275 Duke Ave. on the last Friday of every month from 7 to 11 p.m.
Local musicians. dancers, comics, poets and other performers are welcome to take the stage.
Hot food is available for purchase from Sawmill Tea & Coffee Co. There is no cover charge.
